Silence begins after dinner on the first evening and holds until breakfast on the last. Three seated sessions a day, walking practice between them, and a daily individual check-in with the teacher — the one channel that stays open.

Crestone in February is cold, clear and almost entirely without distraction, which is the point. Rooms are single occupancy. Food is simple, warm and served on time.

Prior sitting experience is required — at least one prior retreat or a consistent daily practice. This is not the place to find out whether you like meditation.
